Health Team

Your trusted HealthCoach is your inspirational guide, assisting you in setting strategic goals, adopting lifestyle activities, understanding data-driven insights, and forming sustainable habits throughout your journey to better health. Each HealthCoach is a dedicated professional assigned to provide personalized support. They regularly meet with members to establish goals tailored to individual autonomy and current health status, navigating health complexities within a safe, supportive environment to ensure members achieve their wellness goals with expert guidance.

Your Registered Nurse is here to navigate your diabetes-related concerns, guide you through medical questions, and assist with managing warning signs, symptoms, complications, and prevention strategies. A Tula nurse delves into the specifics of your health, offering insights into how lifestyle choices, medications, and potential complications contribute to your overall well-being. They serve as your guides through the complexities of managing chronic conditions like diabetes, providing clarity on glucose levels and strategies for optimal blood sugar management. With a focus on prevention, they assist you in avoiding potential complications, and in the event of a new diagnosis, they stand ready to demystify conditions and set you on a path to effective management. We empower you to take control of your health and well-being through our comprehensive program.

Your Registered Dietitian is here to guide you through all aspects of nutrition, including designing personalized therapeutic nutrition plans to address imbalances and deficiencies, optimizing blood sugar, body composition, micronutrient balance, and lab results. Our dietitians, integral to the TULA philosophy, adopt a personalized approach to nutrition. Recognizing that dietary needs are as unique as fingerprints, they develop customized nutrition strategies tailored to your individual preferences and challenges. They collaborate with you to identify the dietary choices that align with your health objectives, considering not only your nutritional needs but also your lifestyle and cultural values. This individualized guidance aims to provide you with the resources and expertise necessary to cultivate sustainable, healthy eating habits that promote long-term well-being.

Education

The American Diabetes Association recommends testing your blood sugar levels regularly. While you are encouraged to check as often as possible, physician-minimum recommendations depend on your medications:

  • If You Take Diabetes Medications: Check a minimum of twice per week.
  • If You Take Insulin: Check a minimum of once per day.
  • If You Do Not Take Any Diabetes Medications: Check a minimum of twice per week.

It’s important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the best testing schedule for your individual needs.

A1c, or glycated hemoglobin, is a blood test that measures your average blood sugar level over the past 23 months. The American Diabetes Association recommends people with diabetes have an A1C test at least twice a year to help manage their condition. The goal for most people with diabetes is to keep their A1C level below 7% (equivalent to an eAG of 154 mg/dl). However, individual goals may vary based on factors such as age, overall health, and other medical conditions. It’s important to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the best goal for your individual needs.
